Wear orange against gun violence.

Wear Orange is a national program to raise awareness and speak out about gun violence in the United States.  Wear Orange started because orange is the color that Hadiya Pendleton’s friends wore in her honor when she was shot and killed in Chicago at the age of 15 — just one week after performing at President Obama’s 2nd inaugural parade in 2013. After her death, they asked us to stand up, speak out, and Wear Orange to raise awareness about gun violence.

On Sunday, June 2nd, the Diocesan Anti-Gun Violence Commission invites your congregation to participate in Wear Orange Sunday.

Wear orange ribbons, clothes, and even vestments to raise awareness about gun violence in our communities.

Reach out to AGV for liturgical and theological resources.
