6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Online
Queer members of the parishes of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania, and their allies, are invited to attend the inaugural meeting of the Diocese’s new LGBTQIA+ Committee. The meeting will be held via Zoom from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8. The purpose of the first meeting will be to meet fellow LGBTQIA+ Episcopalians and discuss our interests and goals in organizing at the diocesan level.
While the work and opportunities the Committee pursues will be shaped by the interests of members, initial ideas include providing outreach and support to queer members across our parishes, exploring gender, sexuality, and Christian life through reading circles; and organizing to work for intersectional social justice and spiritual nourishment in our church and region.
We hope you will attend, to lend your support to this effort and share your ideas! All LGBTQIA+ members and their allies are welcome. Contact Rev. Canon Toneh Smyth at tsmyth@diopa.org to receive the Zoom link. Please also be in touch if you cannot attend on February 8 but still wish to receive emails about upcoming programs, meetings, and next steps.
