JUSTICE for PALESTINE: AN ADVENT SEASON FORUM is a four-session series devoted to the Palestinian justice struggle, as part of the Church of St. Asaph’s mission to connect with communities in the wider world experiencing oppression. Members of other Episcopal churches are invited to participate in-person or virtually.


Goals:
• Create an awareness of the history and current reality of the Palestinian people’s struggle for justice and a life of dignity in their homeland.
• Learn about the call of the Palestinian Christians to the churches of the world,
the global church network that has grown up in response, and the Episcopal Church in Palestine.
• Why Palestine matters to Christians: Learn about the resolutions on Palestine to come before the 2024 General Assembly of the Episcopal Church, including a resolution on Israeli Apartheid to be submitted by the Diocese of Pennsylvania.
Sundays: November 19th, December 3rd, and December 10th
Saturday: December 16th


November 19th:

History of Zionism, settlement of Palestine, settler colonialism,
Palestinian resistance, and the role of the Palestinian Christians.
Leader/presenter: Susan Landau, Jewish educator; Co-convenor, Christian-Jewish Allies for a Just Peace for Israel-Palestine
December 3rd: The call of the Palestinian churches, the response of the U.S. church, the voice of the Episcopal Church today, the Episcopal Church in the Holy Land.
Leader/presenter: Rev. Andrew L Kellner, Rector, Church of St. Asaph

December 10th:

Moving forward: the challenge and opportunity at the church
grassroots; the church history of standing up for racial and political justice; the global Kairos movement for Palestine; the voice of the churches today.
Leader/presenter: Mark Braverman, Executive Director of Kairos USA

December 16th:

Participation in the livestream service with St. George’s
Cathedral in Jerusalem, Time 11:30 a.m.
Time: 11:30-1:00
