Episcopal Church bishops in Pennsylvania and New England are rallying football fans in their dioceses – and beyond – to join in a charitable contest over the next week to see how much money they can raise for Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD) by game time on Sunday, February 4, 6:30 p.m., when the Eagles and the Patriots compete in the big game.
ERD works with Church partners and other local organizations to save lives and transform communities worldwide. They rebuild after disasters and empower people to create lasting solutions that fight poverty, hunger and disease. Their work, in close to 40 countries, impacts the lives of approximately 3 million people around the world.
“Regardless of which team comes home with a trophy, the real winner will be Episcopal Relief & Development and its efforts to heal a hurting world through its disaster relief, public health and economic development ministries,” said Bishop Daniel G. P. Gutiérrez.
