Sacred conversations around the budget and our life as Episcopalians.

In the last two months, we held three “fair share” conversations in churches across the diocese. They focused on the commitment of our churches to live into our call as the body of Christ in Southeast Pennsylvania as the Episcopal Church.

Those who attended gave us valuable feedback on increasing support and participation of our churches as well as how we can better align work of the churches with the work of the Offices of the Diocese.

Feedback from those meetings – and additional adjustments made by the Offices of the Diocese – has been integrated into a projection of the 2020 budget.

On Wednesday, April 24th we will share some of our ideas for adjusting the budget and ask for your critical feedback.  These are sacred conversations in our life as a diocese.  The first of which will take place at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 23 East Airy Street, Norristown at 6:30 p.m. These will be a town-hall style event, focused on hearing you.

The other meetings will be:

• April 30th at 7 p.m. during the clergy conference in Cape May

• May 9th at 6:30 p.m., St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 84 East Oakland Avenue, Doylestown

• May 21st at 6:30 p.m., Trinity Episcopal Church, 301 North Chester Road, Swarthmore

Our goal is to use these sacred conversations to mutually discern giving from churches and to develop a budget based on your input prior to it being sent to Diocesan Council and the Standing Committee in June. This is taking into account your voice in the life of the budget and diocese.  Please contact us if you have any questions.
