Veterans Mental Health Event

This training is to build capacity of faith communities so clergy and congregants (active members of religious communities) are both welcome to attend.

Many Veterans and their family members seek help for their problems from clergy because they perceive the faith community as a safe and accessible place that provides confidentiality and acceptance. Yet clergy members sometimes have limited knowledge about military culture, readjustment difficulties and the unique health issues such as post-traumatic stress, moral injury, or depression common to returning Veterans. This event can help prepare you to support them.

The Community Clergy Training Program offers critical resource to educate and support the faith community. The training will consist of a two-day training session. Each training day begins at Cranaleith with breakfast at 8:00am. Participants will travel to the Philadelphia VA Medical Center after lunch on Monday May 11 for Module 2 and to join the Community Healing Ceremony, which meets from 4:30-6pm in the VA Chapel.
