Race and History: a historic perspective of racism in the United States. Dr. Catherine Kerrison, author and professor of history at Villanova University, and Mr. Arthur Sudler, a member of the diocese's History Committee from African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas, are speakers. This interactive workshop session will focus on the roots of slavery in our country from earlier that the time we became a country. It will cover how deeply ingrained racism became part of the culture in this country. This is one of four training throughout the year. Participating in all four training sessions constitutes completing Anti-Racism Training. We consider this “complete training” to be a good foundation and the beginning of a lifetime of learning about racism and racial healing.
