Bishop's Ball moved to January 12, 2008
Dear Clergy and Lay Leaders:
The Bishop’s Ball has been moved by the Youth Council to January 12, 2008. The reason for this is to give parish youth groups more time to prepare after the holidays for the dance. The dance will be at St. Paul’s Church in Chestnut Hill located at 22 East Chestnut Hill Avenue, Philadelphia, 19118. All registration forms are available on on the website in the youth section.
The Bishop’s Ball is an annual dance for youth grades 6-12. This year the theme is “Dancing with the Stars”. As in the past, the Youth Council would like to encourage all participants to dress in semi-formal attire or to the theme of “Hollywood Stars”. Bishop Edward Lee will be present.
This is a very important event in the lives of the young people of the diocese. Last year, parish youth groups attending the dance helped the Youth Council to raise over $1,000.00 for Episcopal Relief and Development as well as donate over 14 large boxes of canned goods to the food cupboard at St. Paul’s. Please help us to continue to do so this year. The youth group or individual that donates the most canned goods will win a prize. There will also be a raffle and special prizes awarded for participation.
The Youth Council will prepare all baked goods and decorations for the dance as well as arrange for the music. There will be group dances and plenty of time to catch up with old friends.
