Bishop Bartlett's Letter

Dear Standing Committee Members:
Thank you for the invitation to continue to serve as Assisting Bishop of the Diocese of Pennsylvania.
After considerable reflection, I am pleased to accept your gracious invitation for the period September through December 2008, assuming the Standing Committee remains as the Ecclesiastical Authority and that my services are needed.
I would hope that by the end of that time there will be some clarity as to the way forward, and more long-term, full time episcopal assistance will have been engaged.
Please note that I will be away July 31 – September 1.
I am grateful for the cordial working relationship I have with all of you. I am thankful to God if my services have been in some way useful, but I invite your frank critique and creative suggestions as to possible improvements.
