We Need Your Support
Like any organization that is not for the purpose of profit, the Diocese of Pennsylvania depends on the support of those who believe in its mission. The mission of this historic diocese is to "transform society by empowering individuals, with Christ like initiatives, through Word and Sacraments in growing congregations."
Many of our congregations cannot support the diocese to the degree necessary to carry out the mission; therefore the diocese has to seek financial assistance from individuals as well as parishes. Your gift will make it possible to continue the initiatives so important to us all: Camp Wapiti, a place where not just the young but all in the diocese may find inspiration and recreation; strong and vital congregations; a cathedral for diocesan wide worship services and activities; a youth ministry program and an ecumenical campus ministry program for Episcopal college students who come to this area for study.
The diocese does many things that most parishes cannot do with their own resources. These include: creative and inclusive youth ministries; outreach to mission fields like Guatemala where Episcopalians are struggling for spiritual survival; provision for the gathering of delegates to Diocesan Convention where the business of the diocese is transacted; and provision for the many ministries and outreach of the national Church.
In addition, the diocese must provide for the raising up of new leaders for the church, for assistance with the costs of education and ordination of deacons and priests to serve God in the future, and for the teaching of the faith first delivered to the saints by the Prince of Peace.
There are many ways you can help. You may give an immediate gift of any size, you may want to give a major gift, to give a simple bequest in your will, or to do a planned gift annuity that provides you with a generous income while you are living and can see your gift at work.
