Standing Committee plans for the future
The 10 members of Standing Committee spent Friday evening and Saturday last weekend at a retreat held at St. Thomas’, Whitemarsh to plan for the future. Bishop Rodney Michael joined us along with consultants Woodi Sprinkel and Wally Fletcher. We discussed the ongoing ecclesiastical work that the Bishop will assume and reviewed the oversight functions that Standing Committee is required to perform.
It was a time to work and pray over the work of healing for our diocese. In addition, there was time to prepare for the Presiding Bishop’s visit at the end of the month. Finally, there were prayers for the family of The Rev Herb Rowe, a past member and president of Standing Committee, whose funeral was on that Saturday.
