Standing Committee Meeting
Minutes: Tuesday, October 13, 2009
The meeting was called to order by President Glenn Matis at 4:30 PM.In addition to President Matis, Clergy present included Joy Segal, Sam Adu-Andoh, Bill Wood and Ike Miller. Lay Members included Christopher Hart, Arlene McGurk, Bill Powell and Norman “Mac” McCausland.
D-L Wormley was excused.
Also present: Bishop Bartlett, Bishop Michel, Wally Fletcher, Facilitator, Joe Suprenuk, Diocesan Treasurer and John Loftus, Assistant Treasurer.
Mac McCausland led the Opening Prayer.
The Agenda was approved.
- Arlene McGurk moved to approve the Minutes of the September 15, 2009 Meeting. The motion was seconded and adopted.
- Ike Miller moved to appoint Bill Packer as Special Assistant to the Treasurer. The motion was seconded and adopted.
- Glenn Matis moved to appoint Joe Suprenuk and Canon Mottl to develop a job description for an accountant to assist the Controller, Diocese of Pennsylvania, to begin the search for an accountant and to give a report at the November 17 Meeting. The motion was seconded and adopted
- Glenn Matis moved to receive the Treasurer’s Report. The motion was seconded and adopted.
- Glenn Matis moved to grant permission to lease the Rectory at St. Peter’s Church, Germantown on a month-to-month basis, subject to legal review. The motion was seconded and adopted
- Glenn Matis moved to receive and approve the Mission Strategy Plan for St. James, Green Ridge, subject to the Bishop’s and the Chancellor’s approval. The motion was seconded and adopted with one opposition.
