2012 Vegetable Gardening Educational Series

The Nancy Hollywood Community Garden & Wellness Center will hold registration for their upcoming 2012 Garden Education Series at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church AngelFest in Exton. This is the second year that the Center is holding the Education Series taught by the Penn State Master Gardeners. The Series is led by Liz Alakszay.

Community Garden Director, Helen Heinmiller, stated, “We are very excited to continue this education program in 2012. We started the education series in 2011 with great success. The 2012 Series will have six new topics to continue our ongoing education. We also will be increasing our number of attendees from 20 to a maximum of 30 this year. We are grateful for the time that the Master Gardeners have devoted to us in both the education classes and help year-round with our garden issues that have contributed to successfully donating 715 pounds of organic produce to the Chester County Food Bank Gleaning Program. We invite everyone to stop by our table to learn how you can become involved in our Center or help the Food Bank.”

The AngelFest is St. Paul’s Annual Fundraiser that includes Designer Showcase Rooms, Santa’s Workshop, Vendors and other special events that you can learn more about at www.stpauls-exton.com.

The Nancy Hollywood Community Garden & Wellness Center’s goal is to create a successful community model that addresses the increased demand in our county for food assistance and renews an appreciation for our personal health and food sources. The Wellness Programs, led by Director Leslie Kubera, a registered dietitian, offer education, counseling on nutrition, lifestyle management, and emotional wellbeing. There is a small registration fee for the education series to cover expenses.

The Community Center is located at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1105 East Lincoln Highway, Exton, PA 19341. For further information, visit www.We-Grow-Hope.org or contact Director Helen Heinmiller at 484-459-4425.
