Educator for children and youth

Christ Church is a resource-sized congregation in Greenville, Delaware, a residential community of Wilmington within the Episcopal diocese of Delaware. We seek a full-time educator to lead the ministry for children and youth, working in partnership with the clergy, other staff, and members of the parish. We seek someone with talents in education, faith development, organization, management, communication (both verbal and written), and energy for the work of ministry. Position Description

We are calling an educator to serve our congregation in developing and sustaining the process of faith formation in children and youth. He or she will work with the existing committee and create new systems and opportunities for our youngest members to grow in their faith and reach out as Christ for the greater Wilmington community. This is a ministry of Christian nurture, arising from the baptismal covenant and its call to each of us to grow into Christ’s full stature. The primary roles are of administrator, trainer, communicator, education leader, and advocate for children and youth. The expectation for this full-time position is 35 hours, including Sunday mornings and Tuesday mornings, shaping the remaining schedule as otherwise appropriate.

Salary and Benefits

Salary will be commensurate with the gifts, talents, and experience for this ministry; benefits include four weeks vacation, health insurance, and other benefits as described in the Personnel Handbook. The position is open as of June 1.
