All Saints' seeks Part-Time Associate for Pastoral Care
The individual All Saints’ Parish, Torresdale seeks will work in collaboration with the Rector, living out primarily a pastoral ministry to our growing number of homebound members, as well as, those who are residents in various care centers.
Ideally, it is All Saints’ desire to find a retired or non-parochial or a part-time priest vocationally called to another part-time ministry and living within the Philadelphia metropolitan area who will be especially called and gifted to the following tasks and responsibilities.
Pastoral engagements of those who are hospitalized, homebound, or residents in area care centers. Given the reality of the senior population demographic in The Episcopal Church, we wish to sustain a compassionate and caring branch to those associated with the All Saints’ faith community who have been unable to be with us on the Sabbath—and/or other circumstantial relationships directly involving All Saints’ Parish.
We would hope that the individual will be self-motivated and available to work with the Rector on a rotation schedule so as not to overburden either individual.
Pastoral engagements and care are of the utmost importance in this respective vocation. Though, expect potential circumstances where the Pastoral Associate may be requested to provide liturgical responsibilities as well. For example, a funeral, wedding, baptism—even presiding while the Rector is away. In these respects, supplemental reimbursement would be above and beyond the agreed upon compensation package.
Ideally, All Saints’ Parish would hope that the vocational individual would appear and indeed believe that they, and if there are other family members, are welcomed(!) as a part of a warm, caring, visible ministry in the Torresdale area of Philadelphia and often times well beyond.
