Kean University Choirs

The Kean University choirs of Union, NJ, will perform, will present an appealing program entitled Festival of World Choral Music, all sung in the original languages. Sacred repertoire includes an a cappella motet by Tallis, the first movement of Stravinsky’s powerful Symphony of Psalms, Rachmaninoff’s sublime Borogoditse Devo, and the stirring African-American spiritual “Wade in the Water.”
World music selections include Brazilian MuiĆ© Rendera and Mandarin Prairie Love Song, the latter accompanied by flutes. The choir members also form two smaller ensembles, the Chorale and Kean Guitar Ensemble, and these groups will perform a cappella madrigals by Vecchi and Morley, several vocal jazz pieces, a movement from a Vivaldi concerto grosso and Barrios’ Leyenda Espagnole.
The concert will be free admission.
