Giving to Specific Programming

Absalom Jones: Proceeds from the 2021 Absalom Jones service will be allocated to the Absalom Jones Memorial Project: Faith & Freedom. As part of this project, a beautiful statue of Blessed Absalom Jones will be commissioned to honor his life and legacy as the first African-American priest in The Episcopal Church.  Give Now.

Mission Outreach: This would support existing outreach programs at each of our Acts 2 churches: St. Stephen’s, Philadelphia; St. Gabriel’s, Philadelphia; Church of the Advocate, Philadelphia; Cristo y San Ambrosio, Philadelphia; Darby Mission; Free Church, Philadelphia; St. John’s, Norristown; and St. Mary’s, Chester. These churches operate in underserved neighborhoods and provide vital ministries to the people they serve.  Give Now.

Wellness Centers: These are free medical centers within (now 10!) churches in the diocese. A donation would cover any expenses incurred by participating churches to accommodate guests and marketing to promote to their communities. (All staff are volunteer based.) Money will also go towards basic medical supplies for nursing students to provide free services to underserved communities, Narcan and mental health training to help parishes/volunteers become more equipped, and toward street outreach. Give Now.

Youth Programming: For 10 years, City Camp has provided a summer day camp program for churches located in under-resourced communities. Each summer through fun-filled and inspiring activities, we connect more than 250 youth across the diocese to the love of Jesus Christ. City Camp costs $3000 per week, which includes curriculum, and a trained staff of Site Director and 4-5 counselors.  The cost of City Camp does not include meals, field trips or arts programming. Your donation would cover these supportive and team-building activities. Give Now.

Veterans Ministries: This would expand efforts to reach veterans in the diocese including outreach programs for homeless veterans, and rehabilitation support for veterans with PTSD/moral injury; support of the nation’s first moral injury support program for female veterans; and work with female veterans who are living with sexual trauma. Give Now.

Churches Faithfully Serving in Underserved Neighborhoods: Donations are gifts for the development of ministry to the people in the underserved communities in which these churches are located.  Churches include:  St. Simon the Cyrenian; St. George St. Barnabas; Calvary St. Augustine; Holy Apostles and the Mediator; St. Augustine of Hippo; St. Michael’s, Yeadon. Give Now.

Evangelism Initiatives: Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ is essential to our call as Christians and Episcopalians. Donate to support and expand evangelism initiatives in the diocese including church plants, trainings and workshops, digital evangelism, and community engagement. Give Now.

Princess Basma Center (Jerusalem): At the invitation of the Archbishop of Jerusalem, the Bishop is now the vice chair of a steering committee organized to raise much-needed funds for the Jerusalem Princess Basma Center, which is the church's ministry in Jerusalem for children with disabilities.  There on the Mount of Olives, not far from where Jesus healed the disabled man by the Pools of Bethesda, the Center's therapists and teachers continue Jesus' holy work for children throughout Jerusalem and the West Bank. To contribute to this good work, please consider making a donation here.
