Our annual Diocesan Convention will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. While Bishop Michel’s Call to Convention will be issued at the end of the summer, the Convention Arrangements Committee would like you to be aware of the following:
Proposals for changes to diocesan canons are due 90 days prior to Convention and should be submitted to the Chair of the Committee on Constitution and Canons, The Rev. William Duffey, at or 3300 Darby Road, Haverford, PA 19041 (Phone: 610-642-4751).
The Nominations Committee has issued a call to interested parties for positions that must be filled this year. If you are considering submitting your name for consideration, please contact one of the Committee co-chairs – The Rev. Hentzi Elek () and Ms. Debora “Debbie” Brown () – by August 16. The list of positions to be filled will be on the Convention website soon.
Resolutions are due 60 days prior to Convention and should be sent to J.D. Lafrance at or 240 South Fourth Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106, following the format attached.
Pre-convention meetings begin in September. You will find the full schedule and meeting guidelines attached.
A reminder: with the exception of the Call to Convention, ongoing Convention information will be made available through the diocesan website or e-mail only. If you know of someone who does not have a personal e-mail address, please suggest that he/she make arrangements to receive electronic information through friends, relatives, a parish office, or some other entity.
