Diocesan Convention

The 2010 Diocesan Convention will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 12th and Arch Streets, Philadelphia, Saturday, November 6, 2010. Registration will begin 7:30 a.m., Eucharist will be 8:30, and Convention business will begin 9:45. If you have not pre-registered online, you may register the morning of Convention beginning 7:30; registration will close at 11:00 a.m.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, The theme of the 227th Diocesan Convention will be our final promise in the Baptismal Covenant: to “Respect the dignity of every human being.”

The theme is suggested by our gathering on November 6, our Church’s day for the Commemoration of William Temple, Archbishop of Canterbury. At the foundation of Temple’s Christian faith and theological writing was the profound conviction that, because in Jesus Christ God dwelt among us, “the personality of every man and woman is sacred.”

Convention Reports

Subject: Committee Reports Due October 29th
Date: September 22, 2010

All committees, commissions, boards and groups of the diocese are invited to submit a report of their groups’ activities since the last Convention, which will be posted on the Convention website. Reports should be submitted by Friday, October 29, to ensure their being posted on the diocesan website prior to the November 6th Convention. Reports submitted after this date but before December 1st will be included in the Convention journal.
