Around the Diocese A Day of Godly Play: Introduction and Refresher
09:00 AM - 03:30 PM
Church of the Holy Trinity, West Chester

Godly Play® is a way of religious education for children that teaches them the art of using the language of the Christian tradition to encounter God and find direction for their lives. It is not a new curriculum - it is deeply rooted in Christian theology and storytelling – but it approaches children’s learning styles in a way that is fresh and new to the church. The foundation of Godly Play® is the belief that children don’t want to know about God, they want to know God. Children need to be able to get inside the stories of our Christian faith and use all of their sense to make them real and meaningful enough to cherish and hold onto throughout their lives. Through Godly Play® children are encouraged to use their gifts of imagination and creativity to explore the stories of the Bible and make them their own.

June 2-4

However it happens, having a marriage end in divorce is painful. Often, it is a time of perplexity. A cyclone of powerful emotions blows through us and yet we have to think out and make many decisions, both small and great. This makes divorce one of the most daunting of all the life-cycle transitions. If you have to make this passage, where do you seek guidance and support? Taking time away for yourself can help you rethink life after divorce and help you heal. On this retreat we will discover the strength and support in attending to the inviolable true self. We will connect with spiritual practices that uncover the wisdom and love to be found on this difficult journey

07 June, Saturday
Around the Diocese St. David’s Labyrinth
01:00 PM - 04:00 PM
St. David's Church, Radnor

There is a longing within us to love, to nurture, to create, and to discover the mystery that we live within and that lives within us. St. David’s invites you into your spiritual journey by walking our labyrinth. Labyrinths have been around for over 4000 years. Unlike a maze, the labyrinth has one clearly defined path that leads a person to the center, and then leads you out again by the same path. Focusing on this path while walking can help you to center and quiet your mind, facilitating prayer or meditation.

Beginning in November through June, the parish community of St. David’s invites you to come walk our labyrinth. On the first Saturday of the months listed below, our labyrinth will be available for you from 1 pm to 4pm. It will be located in the Fellowship Hall, The scheduled Saturdays for 2007/2008 are November 3, December 1, January 5, February 2, March 1, April 5, May 3, and June 7. During Holy Week, the labyrinth is available on Maundy Thursday, March 20 & Good Friday, March 21, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
